Painting monkey or painting elephant? Some comments on measuring research in the creative arts

In in opinion piece in the current issue of Australian Universities' Review (vol. 53, no. 2), "Painting monkey or painting elephant? Some comments on measuring research in the creative arts", Ron Elliott reflects upon his experiences of the 2010 ERA exercise and raises a number of significant issues about the measurement of creative research output by the university’s ERA collection apparatus, based upon his experience as a creative-arts academic.
